One of my favorite verses! You are the air traffic controller of your thoughts. So get to work !
Before your
IMAGINATION becomes
THOUGHTS which then turns into
ACTIONS which becomes
HABITS which molds your
CHARACTER which determines your
DESTINY
Stop!
A stronghold is the imaginations that Satan puts in our heads. So the Bible teaches us to demolish them and take them captive.
“The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” 2 Corinthians 10:4-5
Take those thoughts that are not truth and cast them out! We are who He says we are!
This is certainly one of our most favorite recipes. It’s quick, simple, nutritions, and economical.

This is one of our rotational dishes. It’s quick flavorful, and satisfying. We make it when we have abundance of fresh garden cherry tomatoes and when we don’t want to spend too much time in the kitchen prepping our dinner.
Ingredients:
2 cloves minced garlic, Olive Oil, Tomatoes – fresh or canned, pitted olives, 2 grilled or roasted chicken breast, pasta of your choice, Italian seasonings, and parmasan cheese
Steps: (20-30 min meal)
Protein is an important component of every cell in our body. Our nails and hair are mostly made of protein. Our body uses protein to build and repair tissues. We also use protein to make enzymes, hormones, and other body chemicals. Protein is also an important building block in our body for bones, muscles, cartilage, skin, and blood. We regenerate our skin about every 27 days whereas bones regenerate about every 10 years. We build tons of new cells every day!!
Interestingly, along with carbohydrates and fat, protein is a macronutrient, meaning that our body needs relatively large amounts of it. Minerals and vitamins, which are needed in only small quantities, are called micronutrients. The interesting fact is that unlike carbohydrates and fat, our body does not store protein and therefore when it needs a new supply we must eat more protein.
There are many science backed reasons to ensure we eat an appropriate amount of proteins.
This all made me think about how much protein should I eat and am I eating enough? There’s a lot of buzz about balanced macros, typically 40% carbs / 30% protein / 30% fat, but what does that mean? How do I translate 30% protein to grams?
As I did some research it appears that most of the nutrition organizations are recommending a fairly modest daily protein intake in the amount of 0.36 grams per pound (0.8 grams per kilo). This equates to 56 grams per day for the average man and 46 grams per day for the average woman.
It seems odd to me that we could recommend daily protein intake so broadly without considering activity level, age, physical goal, and muscle mass so I did more research and I feel that the best way is to base protein intake on lean body mass and activity level. Lean body mass is considered an important measure for metabolism since muscle burns more calories for energy than fat.
Lean body mass is simply the amount of body weight that is not fat. (Body weight – body fat = lean body mass). Okay! So, how do I figure out my body fat? More research surfaced the top four methods to determine body fat percent which allows the determination of body fat weight.
Since I already had a scale with the body fat percent and the other three methods required me to go somewhere and likely pay someone, I used method 1.
As an example, someone weighing 170 lbs. with a 20% body fat percent scale reading would have a body fat weight of (170 X 0.2 = 34) 34 pounds. This means their lean body mass is (170 – 34 = 136) 136 pounds.
Since activity level is an important factor you determine your daily protein requirement by multiplying your lean body mass by the following factor:
0.5 Sedentary – generally inactive
0.6 Light activity – walking or gardening
0.7 Moderate – 30 minutes of moderate exercise, three times a week
0.8 Active – one hour of exercise, five times a week
0.9 Very active – 10 to 20 hours of exercise, weekly
1.0 Athlete – over 20 hours of exercise, weekly
This means someone with a lean body mass of 136 pounds (above example) that is moderately active would need (136 X 0.7 = 95.2) 95 grams of protein a day. That’s a far cry from the 56 grams recommended by most nutrition organizations!
You can’t get all these proteins from meats; that would be very unhealthy. Digesting meat, especially red meat, for your body’s enzymes to get to the proteins requires a lot of work and generates an acidic environment known to be one of the factor that allows cancer to flourish.
This is why we chose wisely what foods we eat and use the best meal replacement shakes as part of our overall daily nourishment. 24 grams of protein per shake with a performance version that has 36 grams of protein per shake. Made with un-denatured whey protein (a dairy-free version exists as well). These are made with the highest quality ingredients, with no compromises in formulation or production. (If it does not meet the specs; it does not get shipped). Compared with other products that appear to be a better value (meaning cheaper) you won’t find anything better, we’re sure of it!

Fad or miracle diets are those that make unrealistic claims that aren’t supported by scientific evidence. Their popularity is usually driven by misguided mass media coverage, which creates hype for the newest cure-all solution.
These diets are usually characterized by highly restrictive or unusual food choices (1-3). They often make promises of quick and easy weight loss or other benefits without providing enough, if any, scientific support or reasoning (1-3).
Aside from the fact that these diets don’t always work, they are generally unsustainable in the long run and can cause unwanted side effects like loss of lean body mass, fatigue, moodiness, nausea, bloating, and constipation (1-3). Some diets even cause serious long-term health problems in exchange for short-term weight loss, such as cardiovascular and metabolic complications (4, 5).
The Two Components of the Isagenix System (check it out HERE)
Isagenix isn’t a fad diet because it doesn’t make unrealistic weight loss claims. The Isagenix System relies on an evidence-based, scientific approach for weight loss that’s comprised of both calorie restriction without undernutrition and nutritionally supported intermittent fasting.
There are two components to the Isagenix approach:
Scientific Support for Isagenix
To provide scientific validation, Isagenix invested in a series of clinical studies to test the Cleanse Day/Shake Day model for achieving healthy weight loss.
University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) researchers found that subjects on an Isagenix System lost more weight and body fat compared to subjects on a self-selected, whole foods-based diet after 10 weeks (6). Notably, the UIC study won an award for its novel design and use of MRI scans as a measure of visceral fat reduction in subjects (6). The subjects on the Isagenix System saw twice as much visceral fat reduction compared to those on the whole foods-based diet (6).
Building on the UIC results, Skidmore College researchers performed a two-part study comprised of an 11-week weight loss phase followed by a 52-week weight maintenance phase (7). Subjects using Isagenix products lost an average of 24 pounds and sustained their weight loss while improving their lean body mass percentage and cardiovascular health (7).
In short, people following an Isagenix System are better able to lose weight and keep it off long-term, and they tend to improve their overall health (6, 7). The system provides convenient, balanced nutrition, including quality sources of protein like whey for muscle maintenance, without creating uncomfortable changes in a person’s lifestyle (6-8).
Why Choose Isagenix Over a Traditional Diet?
It may seem easy to eat the right quantities of protein, healthy fats, carbohydrates, fiber, and vitamins and minerals when there are so many tools and so much information at our disposal. However, according to consistent scientific reports, many people run into problems trying to attain sustained weight loss. The barriers to weight loss include attrition, oversized portions, poor food selection, social factors, lack of convenience, and more. The majority of those who do manage to lose weight on a diet usually regain their weight within the first year (9, 10).
Let’s face it: Most of us prepare menus intuitively and try to combine our family members’ preferences with our own. On top of that, many people don’t understand nutrition well enough to select balanced meals or lack the social support to help them achieve their goals.
Why IsaLean Meal Replacements Can’t Be Beat
The ease and convenience of Isagenix nutritional shakes and bars make for consistency in weight loss results. The UIC study demonstrated that people on an Isagenix System lose weight more consistently week to week as compared to those on a self-selected diet plan (6). The subjects also reported that weight loss was easier and more enjoyable with Isagenix, which is likely due to the variety of available flavors of IsaLean® Shakes and Bars (6).
Aside from Isagenix-related studies, the consensus in the scientific literature is that meal replacements are superior tools for weight loss. In a systematic review and meta-analysis, Oxford scientists found that weight loss programs incorporating meal replacements led to greater weight loss at one year as compared to other alternative diets not using meal replacements (11).
Fasting Before It Became a Fad
The rising popularity of intermittent fasting has made it a component of many fad diets. In part, this shift has been fueled by new advances in nutrition research demonstrating the effectiveness of intermittent fasting for weight loss, including those studies that have involved Isagenix products (6, 7).
To date, there have been few intermittent fasting regimens that have been adequately studied for long-term efficacy. Additionally, untested intermittent fasting regimens can involve dietary restrictions that lead to undernutrition from a lack of vitamins and minerals, dietary fiber, or polyphenols from fruits, vegetables, and botanicals.
Isagenix Is Time-Tested, Safe, And Here to Stay
Isagenix provides a scientifically based, sustainable plan for weight loss. It’s not a fad diet based on a single food item or the avoidance of a macronutrient or food group, nor does it involve starving for days without proper nutrition. It doesn’t involve making unrealistic or unsubstantiated goals. It doesn’t recommend or supply excessive amounts of any nutrient. And, it doesn’t involve use of laxatives or dangerous stimulants.
The Isagenix System is scientifically shown to be safe without the adverse effects generally associated with fad diets. Instead, it supports the body with proper nutrition and quality protein for muscle maintenance during weight loss. The system also provides fats, dietary fiber, vitamins and minerals, and polyphenol-rich botanical components essential for the body’s health.
With a safe, scientifically supported, sustainable plan, Isagenix is a convenient weight loss solution for those wishing to stay away from fad diets.

With all the chemicals and toxins found in our world, be it in our foods, in our homes, in the air, we cannot avoid toxins! The damage from the onslaught of toxic chemicals in our bodies contributes to oxidative stress, shortened telomeres, and compromised health.
Our bodies are built with many defense mechanisms and one of them is the function played by visceral fat which works to capture toxins in our bodies and hold them captive to render them inoffensive to our bodies. The problem is that the body builds more visceral fat as the existing fat is tied-up holding toxins captive.
People think visceral fat is bad, which is understandable since there’s been so much press about it. It is healthy to have some visceral fat; it acts as a cushion for our internal organs, otherwise they would just bounce around when we walk and jog! But when the volume of this fat increases to protect us from toxins it begins to cause other issues not to mention a bulging mid-section!
This is why I cleanse my body with a natural product which helps support the removal of toxins and destructive impurities. A product that helps your body naturally detox and gently eliminate impurities while infusing it with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. It is not a colon cleanse or laxative, but a nourishing product aimed to make your cleansing safe and effective. The nutrients aid your body while it releases toxins stored in fat cells into circulation so they can be excreted.

God’s Grace is always Greater than our Sin. Find out what we can do to receive Gods grace and blessings in our lives.
Do you live in a state of fear, defeat, and anxious thoughts? Do you feel like you’ve just had too many failures? Not applied the optimal level of self discipline? Failed relationships, job difficulties, mental or physical challenges.
Feeling selfish much? Do you sometimes disregard other peoples need for love, acceptance, or attention by putting your needs first? Do you make excuses for your sinful attitudes or the ‘little’ lies that won’t hurt anyone? Or have you made some really bad choices in your life in the past like King David did and you are living in misery, guilt, fear, and anguish?
Wherever you fit into these scenarios, the good news is that God loves you so much that he has great things planned for you. But if you are living in sin (even the little white lies) and not walking in a right relationship with God, it may be impacting your ability to receiving his blessings.
We are all human and born with a sinful nature. But we don’t need to continue to live in that sin. Jesus Christ already covered our sins through his death on the cross and cleared the path for us to be in a right relationship with God. It’s our responsibility to keep that right relationship with God as we fail ourselves and fall into sin. We need to acknowledge our human nature, shortfalls, sins, and ask for forgiveness. Check out this example of King David, his bad choices, his misery, his prayer, and his restoration. This is an example that we can follow too!
Most of us have heard the bible story of King David and Bathsheba in 2 Samuel 11. It’s so hard to
believe that King David, who was anointed by God and also accepted by both Judah’s and Israel’s people to be their King, could also be a murderer and adulteress. King David who had received God’s blessings throughout most of his life from a very young age when he was just a shepherd boy tending his families flocks. As a young boy he was described as ruddy, glowing in health and having a fine appearance and handsome features.
We also look back at David’s life, specifically in 1 Samuel 17. There we read of the story of David and Goliath, which is the first example of when God blessed David and conquered David’s enemies. God delivered David’s enemies into his hands over and over. David loved the Lord and was very intent to follow God’s standards and laws that were provided. David executed good judgement and was responsible, just, and right for all of his people. He did not use his position for personal gain although he very well could have.
Even with God’s blessing as he reigned as King for forty years, David was still human and was a great man but he was tempted by a bathing beauty and he made some really bad choices. Those choices brought pain and suffering for many of the people that looked up to him, their families, and David himself suffered miserably through guilt, misery and anguish. (Psalm 32). David lost four sons in total but the Lord did bless both David and Bethsheba with a son Solomon who became King over Israel and was the third and last in the ancient United Kingdom of Isreal.
The wonderful message that we learn as we study these events in scripture in the books of Samuel, is that God’s grace is greater than our Sin. See God sent a respected and trusted friend of David’s to help David realize his sin and the significance of his decision to reject God and God’s Word. God loved David so much that he intervined to help David get back on track. Then the Holy Spirit who is our counselor and our teacher, convicted David of his sin and David acknowledged his sin, prayed to God and repented, and asked God for forgiveness. And God did exactly that! Because nothing, not even a great big fat sin, can separate us from the love of God.
Romans 8:38 – For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Although sin has far reaching implications as David did experience, God restored David and forgave him of his sin. God’s love is greater than all our sin. What I find fascinating is how David prayed for forgiveness. I think this is a great example that we can choose to follow:
Psalm 51:1-2 “Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion blot out my transgressions. Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin.
Then be thorough each day to take an inventory of even the smallest sins. Pray through Psalm 51 that David prayed. Keep a short list, in other words, through daily reflection and intentional maintenance to keep sin at bay. To receive protection through all the tools, people, and resources that God has provided each of us.”
God bless you as you apply these actions and draw closer to God, become more like Jesus everyday, and enjoy the daily fellowship with the Holy Spirit!
What I envision when I think about being a shadow of my former self is subtle weight gain, muscle loss, feeling less strong, less energy, and loss of vitality which kind of translates to losing the ability to live a full life. When these losses occur you tend to sit around and be less active. This in turn becomes a slippery slope of becoming even less active and less healthy.
More than a year ago I started to wonder if I was possibly going down that path!! Wow!! Really?? I took a good look at myself and decided I needed to maintain and rebuild strength, energy, and vitality; but how?
We can’t protect ourselves against accidents, illnesses, and other tragedies in our lives as these are not really in our control but we can certainly take steps to be healthy. It is nutrition that must be at the forefront and then exercise. It’s not the other way around. You need to fuel your body properly to have the energy and strength to exercise and consequently build lean muscles and core strength.
Following my wife’s lead I discovered the best nutrition ever! A complete system to fuel my body with balanced nutrition, cleanse myself of the toxins trapped by visceral fat in the mid-section. Nutrition that allows the body to function as it was designed which in turn fosters a reshaping of the body! For me this has not been so much from major weight loss but from shifting reducing fat and adding lean muscles. A pound of fat is bigger than a pound of lean muscle so gaining lean muscles at the expense of fat changes the body’s shape back to its former glory or maybe even better!
I’m now feeling better than I’ve been feeling for years and this is only the beginning. Everyone deserves to feel as good as I do.

This resonated with me as I was think about waiting on the Lord. The Lord put me on the path that I am on and I do all I can to bring value, contribute, have the right end in mind, the right priorities, and intentions, and show people some love while I do it! I’m not perfect though!
–
Many times when, in my human nature, I do not see progress as quickly as I desire, I do more “stuff” to try to speed up the progress.
–
I’ve recently realized that I am not waiting on the Lord but rather the Lord is waiting on me to wait on him! I am not being quiet and letting go.
–
Who am I to keep the Lord waiting? I should have the fear of the Lord. I do have the fear of the Lord! I should have reverence and awe of God—enough to not let him wait on me.
–
I am prompt with everything I do in respect of others. I’m on time, I schedule my day to the convenience of others, I don’t make my husband wait for me to be ready to leave the house or to help him when he has something for me to do.
–
So why am I making the Lord wait on me?
–
The Lord is ready to clear my path and enable me! I need to get out of the way! Everything in his perfect timing!
–
I’ve already shifted my thinking and my action – I’m just acknowledging it for inspiriation and accountability.
–
I am choosing to “let go and let God”! And I am now waiting on God with anticipation of what he has planned for me!
