Where Does Our Power Come From?

I saw this post this morning. with some comments about positive energy and sparking power in others. All to be used for our joys and our goals. How sweet – right?

So where does true power come from? Not from us. If we believe that then we are deceiving ourselves and others.

Ephesians 3: 20-21
Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all.

This is Paul talking about praying for others to have the Power of God, supernatural power. It is the very energy of the life of God himself. It is supernatural energy that emanates from God’s being. All to bring Glory to God (not for our joys or our goals). However, God is so good, He is abundant in love and lavishes His love on us. He is faithful, keeps his promises – he sustains the sun and the moon and the stars, day after day! His blessings are abundant – we must just take a few moments each day to reflect on how He has loved us and blessed us! Once you start to consider this, you will see so many blessings.

If we want to spark power and energy, first we must tap into the Power of God ourselves through Jesus. There is no energy or power that we can muster up and sustain on our own. The only way to get God’s power is to first admit that we are nothing but lost sinners. If we can not admit that, then He will leave us lost in our sin forever. And also give us up to our depraved mind! To me that means to not even recognize that our thinking is wrong! That’s a huge problem in our world today!

The scriptures tell us that in Romans 1:28. “And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a depraved mind, to do those things that are not proper.”

And it goes further than that too. We not only need to acknowledge that God exists but give our lives to him. “ Even the demons believe—and shudder! The “faith” of demons is useless, even though they tremble at what they know to be true. People who say they “believe” in God while showing no evidence of faith have a level of “belief” similar to that of demons.

So when people post these statements, they not only are misrepresenting how to have power in our lives but they are also misguiding us for our eternity. We all need to pray that God open our eyes to these modern untruths so we can get back to the basics of His word! We need to acknowledge God and the truths of His words in the Bible.

Have a blessed day friends!
