I find it most unsettling as I gain visibility to the vast array of perceptions of reality, of what is truth, and just how far opposite the beliefs of my friends and family. Many are very firm in their convictions. Doesn’t this make you stop to think? What really is fueling this? How did we get here? How do we start working together instead of so much fighting, destruction, and killing?
I know that my friends and family have love in their hearts and the right intentions, yet such opposing beliefs. There is really only one choice regardless of all these positions: Light or darkness; Truth or deceit; Life or death.
Perhaps if we focus on Jesus and love as Jesus commanded. “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind! This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbors as yourself.”
I ask God daily to show me the truth, remove any veil that is preventing me from seeing the truth. In the bible many times people behaved in ways and the bible says that they were veiled from the truth. Ask God to unveil the truth and make things clear. Pray for discernment. God hears our prayers. Even if you think you are RIGHT, ask God to show you. When we draw closer to the Lord, he draws nearer to us.
Remember that the bible tells us that even our hearts are deceitful and beyond cure, that they are desperately wicked. Think about that for a moment too.
If we all just act and speak in love to one another – we CAN change the world. Each one of us to take accountability for ourselves and trust that the Lord is the only one righteous and the only one to judge. Pray for the Lord’s will and healing for our leaders, our nation, and our world. Then feel the peace that will overflow – His peace – and watch in anticipation for what our God will do!
This photo represents that we are all drowning in a sea of deceit, darkness, evil, death, and destruction BUT we know the way to the light. Jesus says “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life”
